Is it a gloomy, rainy Monday or is God spending time nourishing his creation?
Is it a busy week ahead or is God giving us new opportunities to expand our vision and His mission?
Are we pushing to the weekend or has God blessed us with a job that we love, respect, and want to steward to the best of our ability?
Our perspective has such a lasting impact on the way we see the world and how we react to what we see. We can easily get overwhelmed by our thoughts and perspective or we can shift our view to one that is covered in God's Truth. The truth is that "we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). We can also remember this truth: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31). These two truths help us remember why we are here, supporting this mission, and loving these youth, and how God loves and supports us while doing so. He takes care of our needs, covers us in His goodness, and prepares a plan higher than our own understanding.
I pray today that each of us are able to refocus to realign with God's truth of our purpose and His love for us each and every day in order to have a happy, successful and positive week ahead.
"Happy people do not have best things, they make the best of whatever they have."
It is so easy to get caught up in looking at life with a "glass half empty" outlook. It is easy to look at other people and compare what they have that you don't, or to look at your life and focus on all of the things you want or wish you had rather than what you do.
I encourage each of us to name at least one thing every day this week we are thankful for.
Focus on what God has blessed you with and remember how far He's brought you!
How uplifting this could be not only in our personal lives but also professionally.
I am personally thankful for this job which allows me to serve others on a daily basis. How many people can go to work each day and say they are fulfilled by what they do?!
We have so much to be grateful for! Happy Monday everyone.
Does anyone else wake up on Monday morning feeling like it should still be Sunday?
Sometimes life goes by quickly, the weekends fly by, and rest feels like a distant dream. It is easy to become overwhelmed with the Monday blues and the feeling that we have a whole week ahead.
But I encourage myself, and each of you, to pray today - refocus and renew. And remember the plans that have been set for us. Instead of this being another week of work, let's remember this is one more week that has been granted us as a blessing to give to others.
We have one more week to influence youth lives.
We have one more week to share God's love.
We have one more week to grow, be strengthened, and to build new and deeper relationships with those around us.
We have one more week to make the world a better place.
My favorite verse states: "For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future' - Jeremiah 29:11"
Today is a day of hope and future! Here's to a new, exciting week! Happy Monday, everyone.
"I've learned that people will forget what you said, will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel" -Maya Angelou
In this line of work, it can become easy to get frustrated or feel like we may not be making the impact we feel we should have each day. I would like to remind each of you that you may not always see the impact you are having on someone's life or the seed that has been planted as you are following Christ.
Each of us know that His plan is so much higher than our plan, and I know for many of us that may be a struggle to remember. I personally want things to go right and quickly, and I get discouraged if I don't see the results I want to see. But at the end of the day, He has His own plan to be a light to the world through us.
It is when we fully live in this truth that we begin to focus less on what we say and what we do and let God lead the way in making them feel.
Happy Monday and Happy Week! Thank you all for your dedication and consistency to see a change in the lives we serve.
